Paredes Family Meets with Legislative Sponsors: Commemoration Ceremony for “Angelie’s Law”

Six months to the day of losing their little girl, Jairo Paredes and Maylin Hago attended the Commemoration Ceremony with the legislative sponsors of Angelie’s Law bearing their daughter’s name.

New Jersey Senators Nick Sacco, Sandra Cunningham, Assembly Speaker Vincent Prieto, Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez, Assemblyman Charles Mainor as well as other local elected officials offered their heartfelt sympathies to the Paredes family and explained how “Angelie’s Law” seeks to prevent a horrific accident like the one that took their daughter from ever happening again. Angelie’s Law incorporates new regulations for small commuter buses between NJ and NY.

The event was held in North Bergen Township Hall.

  1. This seems to be a trend. A horrific accident must occur, before any action is taken. Sadly, this will trend will continue. In this case, too little too late, but hopefully, other parents will not have to experience the horrors the Paredes family was subjected to. Bless them.
