Latinos Receive Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists & Engineers

Four Latinos among latest recipients of the Presidential Early Career Awards for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE), the highest honor bestowed by the United States Government on science and engineering professionals in the early stages of their independent research careers.

Dr. Miguel Morales (Puerto Rico), Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Department of Commerce

Dr. Ana Rey, National Institute of Standards and Technology and University of Colorado at Boulder

National Aeronautics and Space Administration

Dr. Javier Arce-Nazario, University of Puerto Rico at Cayey

Although they represent only a 3% of the recipient pool (4 out of 102), we are proud of their accomplishments and believe that their story will motivate more of our young adults to follow in their footsteps.
